DETROIT (AP) - General Motors Corp. said Thursday it sold 9.17 million vehicles worldwide in 2005, the most it has sold in 27 years.
Sales were up two per cent from the 8.99 million vehicles sold in 2004, the company said. It was only the second time the world's largest automaker has sold more than nine million vehicles. The company set an all-time sales record of 9.5 million vehicles in 1978.
