I am defiantly looking into getting a 2006-2007 Chevrolet Impala LT with the Remote Starter on the key fob. I am browsing through the web and these prices are incredible for these Chevrolet Impala's. I saw one with 27k miles for $10k. That is so cheap. I was wandering why are they so low? And I was curious to know are these cars durable to own? These prices are so low now days.

these cars have very common problems associated with GM's

i work for a fleet company and i would not purchase one unless it still had factory warranty

some very common problems: steering shafts, blower motor resistors, wheel bearings (not so much on passenger cars),

these cars have special (DEX 6) transmission fluid, that quite often doesn't get put back in when a service is done that leads to premature transmission failure

plus GM is being bailed out by the government, not a good place to be when you're a car manufacturer

Low tech vehicle made with few changes in large volumes. Basic sedan that will deliver good service for the first 5 years of ownership.

Not a standout in it's segment, overshadowed by other brands but not to bad from GM all things considered.

Due to it's reputation a buyer will notice that it is less expensive than something from Honda or Toyota.

Do some research on this vehicle online if you need to know more about it.

Its a good car and if it has the 3.8 V6 that is a great engine.

Lots of people view American cars as junk which has caused low resale values. Its not true but the reputation is there.
