With a chip in the computer or I guess now a days with a reprogrammer you plug in to to change settings, shift points and recalibrate the speedo. Average cost is around $375. Remember one thing if ya got more gas in ya need more air also so change to a K&N filter set up
cool

Might want to check into a chip for the PCM. Or find a shop that can change the calibrations in the PCM. (Powertrain Control Module) You might have to installed a higher volume fuel pump, larger injectors. Also you will have to change the amount of air going into the engine to compensate for more fuel. Computer controlled vehicles are more difficult than just turning a few scews on a carburetor.

You didn't specify why....so....if you install a colder thermostat....the ECM will stay in " closed loop " thus a richer mixture as the ECM will think ( did I say think ? lol ) the engine is warming up. Eventually the ECM will smell a Rat and turn on the " service engine soon " light....but this might get the necessary info your looking for short of a " re-programmer" as the ECM's in 98 and newer have EPROMS....there is no " chip" you can remove and install another. I hope I helped a little.
