Question:
Is Chevy still discontinuing the Cobalt?

I had heard a couple years ago that after the 2010 model year, Chevy would be discontinuing the Cobalt model and replacing it with the *ugh* Cruze. But I noticed on the Chevy website that they are still offering 2011 Cobalts and letting you build your own. The Cruze is so boring and I would hate to see them get rid of the Cobalt after only a few years in production, considering how long they kept the Cobalt's parent model, the Cavalier, for well over a decade. What's up with this? Did they decide to keep it as their fun, young, more affordable coupe model?

The Cobalt is by far the worst car GM has rolled out with in the last 15 years. It's absolute garbage and its dated designs and styling make it look like it was produced in the early 2000s, not the late 2000s. It was a complete miss by GM engineers and helped sink GM. The Cruze is the future, it's what will float GM for years to come. It's stylings are far more advanced and sporty than the Cobalt. It's list of standard features may not make it a cheap "starter car" that your looking for, but that is exactly what Chevy DOESN'T want it to be, a cheap car. The Cavalier was a rather robust car and was pretty successful, the Cobalt was a bump in the road for Chevy.

What you see on the website is a 2010 model. You can build your own and check for local stock that match what you built. Soon, it will be gone, and not a moment too soon.

The Cruze is the most exciting car that GM has rolled out with in a long time, go out and test drive it, you'll see what the hype is all about.

Cruze is replacing the failure Cobalt. GM decided that as a model the Chevy Cobalt/ PontiacG5 did not sell well enough, and that it was WAY underpowered. They replaced it with the much better looking Chevy Cruze.

I support you. I own a 2007 Cobalt coup. It looks good, gets great mileage, and the engine is smooth and quiet. Sad that GM only gave the Cobalt 5 years but stuck with the Caviler for 20.

Yes Thank God the hideous Cobalt has finally stopped production fall 2010 for the Cruze (if you don't like the Cruze, check out the new, awesome looking Hyundai Elantra. (link below, I love it) But if you only want 2 door, stick with Honda Civic.

The Chevy website has to be incorrect as there are no more Cobalt's except leftover 2010 sitting on dealer lots hoping for a home..........or the last bunch was sold to the usual rental car agencies.

The Cobalt was in production for 6 years and there were 1.1 million of them manufactured. Production ended June 23, 2010. Once the inventory is sold out there will be no more.

The Cruze is boring but the Cobalt isn't? What are you smoking? The Cruze is better in just about every way than the Cobalt.
