I put in the key it it wont turn in any direction. The steering wheel is not locked. Is there a simple solution? It is cold outside About -40 Celsius? Anybody know what the problem is?

If you think that the tumblers might be frozen, you could try to warm you key with a lighter, before inserting it. Just be careful that you don't get it too hot. I don't know what, if any electronics are in the tumbler area. If you do get the ignition to unlock, squirt some powdered graphite into the cylinder. If you use something like WD-40, you risk it freezing up.
Good luck.

If the ignition is locked and the wheel isn't then something is wrong because it shouldn't do that. Is it a new duplicate key possibly? see if you can turn the wheel both ways to make it lock and if it does it will probally work then. G.L.

i suppose you have tried inserting the key both ways to see if it will go in both ways, but only turn in one. tap the ign, swith with something it may just be gummed up a little and sticking since it is so cold.

wiggle the steering wheel while wiggling the key.
