i had a car that did that but it was lean and come to find out it was my O2 sensors

Most cars do have a rich idle for a few minutes after sitting in the cold for awhile...its the cars way of warming up

take the car to murrays auto parts. lie to em and say "my check engine light is on" they will give the car a computer spec, and it'll tell you whats going bad, do not use any other auto parts store murrays has the next best brand to dealership equipment which is good when dealing with a chevy
