Ive been looking at buying a truck in that year range an was just wondering whats the differences between the frames, are they bigger, stronger, more supports in them, an overall differences of the three trucks.
Thanks for your time.

The frames are all the same. What makes the models different is the components put on them.

For all models, 1971 was the first year of disc brakes on the front.
C10's 67-70 had 6-lug wheels. In 71 they went to a 5 lug. All c20 and 30's had 8-lug wheels.
C10's could have trailing arm rear suspension (coil springs) to locate the rear axle, or leaf springs. All 20 and 30's had leaf springs if I remember correctly.
C10's could have a 6.5' or 8' bed. The C20 and 30 had an 8' or 9' (camper special) beds.
Of course the C20 and C30 trucks are rated to carry and tow more. The 3/4 ton frames are heavier than the 1/2 ton frames by about .050". The springs are also rated heavier on the 3/4 and 1-ton chassis.
You will have a lower axle ratio (numerically higher) in the C20 and 30 trucks versus the C10.
A dually was also available on the heavier trucks. Engine size is a wash... You could get a 396/402 optioned C10 and you could also get the I-6 in a C30!
Hope this helps some.
